According to the survey summary by the Secretariat of the Household Paper Committee, from January to March 2024, the industry newly put into operation a modern production capacity of about 428000 t/a, with a total of 19 paper machines, including 2 imported paper machines and 17 domestic paper machines. Compared with the production capacity of 309000 t/a put into operation from January to March 2023, the increase in production capacity has rebounded.

In 2024, the industry plans to put modern production capacity into operation exceeding 2.2 million tons per year. The actual production capacity that has been put into operation in the first quarter accounts for nearly 20% of the annual planned production capacity. It is expected that there will still be some delays in other projects planned to be put into operation within the year, and market competition will become more intense. Enterprises should invest cautiously.
